How do you walk or run?

✅ You make a point of taking long strides.
✅ You push off the ground with force as you walk.
✅ You fully extend your knees and land heel-first.
✅ You walk (or run) by taking advantage of the grip of your shoe soles.
✅ You wear thick-soled shoes with plenty of cushioning.
✅ You use insoles with strong arch support.
✅ You wear shoes with an elevated heel to help generate forward propulsion.
What if the habits we consider “good” in modern society are actually putting unnecessary stress on your body?
From a human anatomical perspective, the most natural and biomechanically rational way to walk and run is the way we move barefoot.
Mansandals is patented to guide you toward natural, barefoot movement.
What Does It Mean to Walk and Run Barefoot?

Walking and running barefoot allows us to move in a way that makes use of the body's natural structure and mechanics.
Rather than forcefully pushing off or dragging the feet across the ground, barefoot movement uses the natural spring-like properties of the feet to create forward propulsion.
For millions of years, since our ancestors began walking upright on two legs, humans have moved in this natural and efficient way.
But as highly cushioned footwear became widespread, the way we walk and run changed dramatically.
Modern shoes can prevent you from immediately feeling pain even when you place your weight unevenly or land heavily on your feet.
The problem is that the consequences may show up later — potentially placing stress on areas such as the knees and lower back.
Like being barefoot, Mansandals allows you to move without forcing your body to work against its natural design. This may help reduce unnecessary stress on the joints and support the natural development and function of your feet.
What Makes Mansandals Different?
01 — Incredibly Lightweight

At approximately 40–50 grams per sandal, Mansandals are remarkably lightweight compared with conventional footwear.
You'll notice the difference the moment you switch from regular shoes to Mansandals.
02 — An Unmatched Sense of Freedom

The cord isn't meant to tightly bind your foot. Instead, it is gently and loosely wrapped around your foot.
Because the cord itself has just the right amount of firmness, it doesn't cling to your foot. Instead, it maintains its shape and stands naturally around your foot.
This unique “loose(ゆる), soft(ふわ), and graceful(りん)” fit creates a feeling remarkably close to being barefoot.
You may find yourself thinking:
“I never realized how comfortable and enjoyable it could be to walk and run while truly feeling the ground beneath every step.”
Unlike conventional shoes, Mansandals don't enclose your feet.
Your toes are free to move naturally and independently.
When you lift your foot, the sole naturally separates from the bottom of your foot, giving the sole of your foot an additional sense of freedom.
03 — Learn to Move with Less Strain

Mansandals were developed with the goal of allowing you to walk and run in a way that is similar to being barefoot.
As you develop your barefoot movement skills, you can learn a way of walking and running that feels more natural, comfortable, and less prone to overloading your body.

Hi, I'm Yashee, and I'll be leading the workshop.
I have worked as a physical therapist for more than 15 years in hospitals and clinics, where I've worked with everyone from older adults to athletes.
Over the years, I've seen countless injuries and physical complaints related to the way people walk and run.
In many cases, changing footwear or adjusting insoles helped improve the situation.
But one question kept coming back to me:
“Why does the human body need so much adjustment just to walk properly? How did people manage before modern footwear?”
Discovering Mansandals gave me an answer to that question.
We humans evolved to walk and run barefoot.
Going barefoot allows us to reconnect with the ground, both physically and mentally, and encourages our bodies to return to their natural way of moving.
Mansandals is a bridge that helps people living in a modern, shoe-dependent world rediscover their barefoot nature.
I hope you'll experience the appeal of Mansandals for yourself at the workshop!
How to Make Your Own Mansandals
01 — Choose Your Sole
First, measure your foot and select the appropriate sole size.
The soles are available in five colors.
Some colors may be temporarily unavailable depending on stock.

02 — Choose Your Paracord
Choose your favorite color of paracord.
We use 4 mm ATWOOD paracord.

03 — Thread the Cord and Finish Your Sandals
Following the instructions, thread the paracord through the sole to complete your Mansandals.
The cord should be adjusted relatively loosely, but if it is too loose, you won't experience the intended fit and feel.
Finding the right balance is the most important — and often the trickiest — part of the process.

What Our Participants Say

I had been wearing barefoot shoes, but Mansandals are on another level! The way I feel my body has completely changed.
Once you've experienced this barefoot feeling, it's hard to go back to regular shoes.
These days, I've even started running barefoot on mountain trails as a hobby.
It really makes you realize just how much potential the human foot has.

I've always struggled with exercise, and before I knew it, I had reached a point where I could barely run at all.
At first, I was worried whether I would even be able to walk properly in Mansandals, but they were much easier to wear than I expected.
I heard that Mansandals can help activate the muscles in your feet, so I'd be happy if I could eventually at least jog a little.

I fell in love with Mansandals the moment I saw my friend wearing them, so I decided to give them a try!
At first, I was drawn to the appearance, but once I actually put them on, I was captivated by the sense of freedom — it was far beyond what I had imagined.
I had never been particularly active before, but now I've reached the point where I can run a full marathon in Mansandals!
